Summer Camp Counselor
Camp Counselors are the life blood to our programs. This candidate needs to understand that we are an OUTDOOR CAMP and the majority of their time will be spent OUTSIDE. They are the relationship builders and the front line leaders that make our camps great. A great Camp Counselor should be fun, energetic, creative, motivated and compassionate. They should also be responsible, great with kids and be able to handle the responsibility of leading a group of campers. Counselors are responsible for executing daily activities for their group, in addition they ensure the safety and well-being of each of their campers. Our camps are high energy, fast paced and progressive. If you want to help continue the tradition of excellence in camping for the YMCA of Beaufort County, we’d like to hear from you!
30-40 hours per week • Pay Range: $8.50 – $10.50 per hour
Within the past 4 years, the Wardle Family YMCA has implemented summer learning loss prevention camp programs that have been integrated within our traditional summer camp. The academic areas of focus during camp are mathematics and literacy. The YMCA will be hiring several Certified Teachers to work part time during the summer focusing strictly on academic camp components. Certified teachers applying for this specific position do not need to go to the large group interview on April 28, 2018.
20 hours per week • Pay Range $20 – $25 per hour

Interview Day – Saturday, April 28, 2018. 9 am – 1 pm. Camp Counselor applicants – please plan on staying through the duration.
Swim Lesson Instructor: Must be at least 15 years old and have swim experience, either swim team or comparable. Monday through Friday: 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
Pay: $9-$11/hour depending upon experience
